Cell Phone/Electronics Policy

 Cell phones should be OFF and AWAY at Bridgepoint High School. Students should keep his/her phones on their person and off during classes. The Newark Unified School District is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged equipment brought to school.

Cell phones are not to be used during class time. Refusal to turn in the cell phone or electronic device to a teacher or staff member when asked could result in disciplinary action.

Similarly, electronic devices such as  mp3 players, cameras, portable game players, etc. may not be operated during school hours. Violation of this rule will result in the following consequences:

1st offense – the item will be confiscated and kept in the office until the end of the school day. The student will receive a referral.

2nd offense – the item will be confiscated until a parent/guardian personally claims them from the office. The student will receive a referral and parent meeting may be required.

3rd offense –  if the item is brought to school, the student may be suspended for defiance.

Be productive; your phone may affect your ability to earn productivity points and ultimately affect your credits.
