Ms. Jenny Trac:
I have been a classroom teacher since 2002. I worked for San Francisco Unified School District in one of the toughest schools in the district, Visitacion Valley Middle School. My role at the school was to head and create a Newcomer program for all of the new immigrant students that were enrolling at my school. At the height of the program, I was teaching over 80 newcomer students. Many of my students were able to transition to regular classes after a couple of years working with me. I got my BCLAD credential as a result of working with this demographic. I had to quit my job to take care of my ailing mother. After she passed, I went back to teaching but this time at Newark Adult School. I have always wanted to teach ESL to adults. I love what I do and I hope to be able to keep teaching this group of amazing students!
Ms. Marian Langford:
I have been in education for all of my professional life. I worked for 30 years with students in grades K- 9 in Menlo Park and East Palo Alto before retiring and coming to Newark Adult Education. At Newark Adult Education, I have had the pleasure of teaching Creative Writing to Seniors, English Credit Recovery to high school students, Adult Basic Education, and GED classes. For the past 10 years, I have had the distinct honor of being the facilitating teacher for the High School Diploma program. I love and enjoy this program tremendously because it offers students an opportunity to achieve a goal that can and will open many doors for them in their pursuit of personal interests, desires and dreams. I take great pleasure in watching students turn mirrors into windows as they begin to discover the vast number of possibilities awaiting them on the horizon.
